Photography and Social Media
Photo Usage
Photos taken during workshops or events may be shared on our social media platforms, website, or marketing materials for promotional purposes.
For minors (under 18): Parents/guardians are required to sign a photo use permission slip before any photos of their child may be taken or shared.
Opt-Out Options
You have the right to:
Opt out completely from being photographed during events
Request removal of any photos containing your image
Decline consent for social media sharing at any time
Revoke permission previously given on photo use permission slips

Special Protections for Minors (Under 13)
For participants under 13 years of age, we provide additional protections in compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act):
We obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information
Parents/guardians have the right to review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's information
We limit information collection to what is necessary for workshop participation
Photos of minors are only shared with explicit parental consent
Parents/guardians may request complete removal of their child's information at any time
Information Sharing
We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information or creative works with third parties, except:

With your explicit written consent
In anonymized form for educational or research purposes (with all identifying information removed)

Google Drive for secure storage of teaching materials, lecture content, and workshop resources
Payment processors for workshop fee transactions

These services have their own privacy policies and security measures. We select providers that maintain high standards for data protection.
When workshops are recorded (with advance notice to participants), recordings are stored securely and used solely for instructional purposes.
International Clients
For clients located outside the United States, please note:
This privacy policy is governed by Texas and US federal law
We take appropriate measures to protect international data transfers

Personal contact information: Retained while you are an active client, plus 4 years for business records
Creative works and submissions: Retained only as long as necessary for workshop purposes, then securely destroyed unless you request return
Photos: Retained until you opt out or request removal
Workshop recordings: Stored securely for instructional purposes, with access limited to instructor use
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify clients of significant changes via email or through our website. Continued participation in our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

This policy reflects our commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and trust that is essential to the creative writing process. Your privacy and the security of your creative works are our top priorities.
Rose Writers adheres to the following policies regarding payment and refunds.
1. Payment is due after registration. Unless otherwise stated, payments are accepted online, emailed invoice or check (made out to Desiree Kannel) mailed to: Desiree Kannel, 6825 Huebner Rd. #680271, San Antonio, TX 78238
2. Payment is for the entire workshop or coaching session. First-time participants may request a partial refund after their first session if the workshop format isn't the right fit.
3. Unless otherwise stated, a 100% refund is allowed if Rose Writers is notified at least 5 working days before the session date and time. Refunds are generally NOT allowed after the sessions start. Rose Writers has up to 30 days to process refunds. Emergency cancellations due to illness or family emergencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis, even within the 5-day window.
4. Make-up sessions are offered when space allows in future workshops. Participants with advance notice of absence receive priority. Make-up credits are valid for 12 months.
5. Payment plans are only available to returning participants. If your financial situation is the ONLY thing preventing you from taking a workshop, PLEASE contact me to explain your situation.
